Food Artist David Ma brings a mix of fun, style, and character to his filmmaking. David’s unique approach to food, is due in large part to his unique background. He began his culinary career as a food stylist, with an eye for finding the beauty in all foods—from high-end dishes to a grilled cheese. Before entering the food world, he also worked as an agency creative at Droga5, TBWA & 360i, which taught him the importance of both a great concept and the execution of that idea.

With every project, he seeks to combine surprising narratives with polished, cinematic food imagery. The world of tabletop can be a familiar one, and often overly serious. David aims to create films as fun as they are drool-worthy. His latest viral project, Food Films, was an original series that transformed dull cooking videos into the styles of iconic directors like Wes Anderson, Michael Bay, Quentin Tarantino and Alfonso Cuaron. The project received over 10 million views on Facebook and YouTube, and even Michael Bay himself commented.

David also runs a popular Instagram where he posts everything from the best street tacos in LA to his latest food art projects. He splits his time between NYC and LA and has a number of original shows in the works.

Whether for broadcast or social, David knows how to make food famous. His work has been featured on Fast Company, Mashable, Buzzfeed, Food&Wine, VICE, Bravo and others.
